For many schools and districts, the question of funding special programs comes into play every year. We know that finding funding for your HOSTSLink program can be challenging during these times of budgetary constraints and we want to help you identify available resources to maintain and expand your learning center.

Nationwide, Title I is the most widely used funding source for HOSTSLink learning centers, both initial implementations and annual renewals. Under Title I, Supplemental Education Service (SES) funding can also be used for HOSTSLink if the district chooses to serve as the service provider across the district. Ask your HOSTS Learning representative for more details.
Starting and continuing a HOSTSLink learning center with Title I funds is an effective expenditure of these resources because:
- HOSTSLink is a nationally validated Title I program.
- HOSTSLink is highlighted in No Child Left Behind for having helped schools improve student achievement and test results.
- HOSTSLink is included on the Education Commission of the States' list of practices proven to accelerate student achievement.
- HOSTSLink is based on Bloom's research showing the effectiveness of a mastery learning/tutorial approach on student achievement.
- HOSTSLink provides early intervention, curriculum alignment, prescriptive teaching strategies, one-to-one instruction, parental and community involvement, professional development, and instructional leadership development.
- HOSTSLink for English Language Development meets USDOE standards for effective ELD or ELL programs.
- HOSTS training incorporates the National Staff Development Council's standards of context, process, and content.
The important thing is for HOSTSLink instructors, principals and administrators to start thinking about funding now for the following school year and to start securing this funding well in advance.
